25 years at the helm

Today marks a milestone in my professional life – 25 years in legal expenses insurance. On 1st April 1996, I started out on a journey that had a clearly defined purpose – to provide Access to Justice for all and to nurture a way of working that put the focus of the customer.

And what an exciting journey this continues to be.

Over the last quarter of a century, I have been fortunate to help pioneer the way for a specialist Legal Expenses product niche in the Irish Market. And while the market has grown and developed in that time, so has the exceptional team I have worked with.

Now fully integrated into the wonderful ARAG family, the team here in Ireland continues to work with drive, foresight, openness and fairness and has a dynamic approach in marketing services, developing strategies across all our key marketing channels, ensuring our loyal broker base is informed and ready to assist clients get access to justice.

I have also been honoured with three Presidencies and provided counsel to colleagues who were similarly honoured, as well as accepting company awards in record breaking numbers from peers in the Broking industry – including a personal ‘President’s Prize’.

Of course, it’s not always been plain sailing, and a plethora of legislative changes, a couple of recessions, an acquisition and Part V11 transfer process, not to mention a global pandemic have proved challenging but ultimately successfully navigated through.

I can’t wait to find out what the next 25 years will hold.
