The Legal & Corporate Governance Executive is responsible for much of the administrative aspects of the day-to-day delivery of the Legal & Corporate Governance activity. The Legal & Corporate Governance Executive will report to the Head of Legal & Compliance.
Key responsibilities will include the review of Agency applications and onboarding including liaising with the Sales team to ensure appropriate documentation has been received to enable a determination of the application and the ongoing Agency administration including the checking of regulatory status. The Legal & Corporate Governance Executive will also be responsible for the completion of Subject Access Requests made under Data Protection Legislation and the maintenance of the Regulatory calendars ensuring key dates are met. The Legal & Corporate Governance Executive will also assist with adminstrative tasks for Risk , Audit and general administrative support for the Head of Legal & Compliance.
Maintain the company’s regulatory manual, procedures, processes and associated documentation to ensure that it is both up-to-date and appropriate assisting the implementation of best practice throughout the business
In effect, the Legal & Corporate Governance Executive will gain experience in almost every aspect of Legal & Corporate Governance including but not limited to: agency, contracts, data protection activity, audit data compiling, process mapping, regulatory checks and assist in our regulatory compliance and assisting the Company Secretary with general company secretarial duties where required.

A graduate in a relevant subject, and either a) a qualified solicitor/barrister with at least 2 years PQE &/or b) strong working knowledge of regulatory functions in the insurance or finance industry and in Data Protection. Working knowledge of the law with experience in a commercial environment e.g. a professional firm. Evidence of a proactive, goal oriented approach with a high level of business acumen. High level of understanding and use of MS Office applications. Excellent numeracy & literacy skills. |
Ideally you will have exposure in Financial Services and Data Protection. A higher level of academic graduate level. Experience of Legal Expenses Insurance. Experience of internal audit. Knowledge of CBI Regulatory requirements and Codes of Conduct. Professional qualification (e.g. Institute of Company Secretaries, CIMA, CII or ILEX). |
